Dream catchers and nightmares.....?

I have a dream catcher hanging in my room, hung it up about five months ago. Since hanging it in there I have been having horrible dreams that are becoming increasingly worse. When I go out of town the dreams seem to stop immediately. I am not stressed and I relax before going to bed to ease my mind. I have never really been one to have nightmares and am not really superstitious, but this is getting ridiculous. I always wake up in the middle of the night now and can always remember my nightmares. It is to the point now that if my kids climb into bed with me in the middle of the night they wake up with nightmares which they have never had before either. Like I said, I'm not superstitious, but out of respect I would like to dispose of this properly.....Anybody know what the proper technic is to dispose of this? Thanks for any help!!
