How exactly should I go about handling a situation like this?

I have a friend who is very superstitious. I'm not. he knows I'm not. but sometimes he comes to me with worries about some bad "sign" he saw or something, and I'm not sure what to say. cause I really wanna tell him to stop worrying over nothing but I don't want to sound insulting either.
